The official "Welcome New Members" thread!

Agree with the crew, here.

No clean-up pruning is perhaps your niche.
Invest in some relatively inexpensive pruning tools (compared to trailer, loader, splitter, etc).

Orchard pruning is possibly a part of that. Good repeat customers have trees that get easier, quicker, year after year.

I'm meaning to buy powered hands pruners for it, but haven't yet. Got a line on some to try.

To me, an arborist is someone who studies/ practices the health, function care of trees.

I'm only acting as an arborist sometimes.
Sometimes tree killer.
Frequently, pruning is only for people, not trees. People's roof, lawn, touching another tree (oh, the horror).

Thanks Burnam!
Thanks SeanKroll! "...Frequently, pruning is only for people, not trees..." .... this sounds like a very salient point
...(haha, "oh, the horror" :) ....It is their trees and their money, and if that is what they want, and there is no good reason not to cut that limb that is touching the other tree, and I tell them they shouldn't worry about it, etc., etc. .... but this is what they want... then we are both benefiting from the transaction!

I never really considered "pruning" but it is a thought that is starting to germinate.
haha, I really do enjoy cleaning up, to a point... carrying branches and limbs and brush and stacking it up... haha, but no money in it! :)

Hello everyone! I've already met some of you but Sean directed me hear to formerly introduce myself. I've been climbing since '01-'02. Before that, (and still do), I've been roofing since '91. Spent 5 yrs before that turning wrenches at a couple of auto shops, one of which was a speed shop for drag racers and modified dirt cars. Life's been a blast. Even with the severe injuries I received from a car wreck in '92. That of which has been catching up with me for a while now. I keep pushing though .....
BTW nice to meet everyone here.

Thanks everyone. I like it here in the tree house already. Wish I had a little more time to spend online. Been busy lately.

The first thing I looked for (besides porn) when I got my computer about 12 years ago was tree forums. I found AS and was one of the first to have 10,000 posts, but when I started the TreeHouse I pretty much gave up on other tree forums.

Or at least millions of pennies??
:)

Good to read you after so long gone, my friend.

Hi Mr. Burnham, nice to be back.

Re: the Rope Bags ...lets just say they should have taken my first proposal because I made more with the royalties!

Remember that "Wraptor" you sent me a while back...

The more I demoed it, the more I liked it, so I bought it!

That thing is incredible & keeps an old guy like me just as productive as the younger guys.
