Like you said earlier, you need the space and gear to lay in your supplies.
 
My wife and I have differing opinions about things.

When I go to the store I buy two cans of coffee. When she goes she buys one.

One is none, two is one.

If we ever have a disaster I am going to rub her nose in it so hard!

When I open the fridge and see the gallon jug of milk is half gone I holler that we are out of milk.

Okay, I may be descending into lunacy.......
 
Preaching to the choir Jim. I'm the same way. When I go shopping we don't go back to the store for weeks. When I grab the last gallon of milk that means we're out.
 
What happened with the freezer? Thermostats usually go on the old ones, $24 cad for a generic switch up here. Start cap may be? Newer ones have those god awful thermal start discs, they shatter, a generic quick start up here is about $12 cad. Three wires and yer off.

I have to say about my GF she likes to keep plenty of extras on hand, much like myself.

And we both rarely pay full price, we always grab up things only on sale.
 
No idea yet Peter. Silly thing must be 60 years old.

I saved it from certain doom in a land fill. We have run it for probably 8 years.

My pork was soft, but there was still a lot of frost on stuff, so I reckon its okay.

Its about the only load on a 20 amp circuit, and she trips instantly. I will have a look later. Could be something as silly as a mouse chewing a wire.
 
Hope it's a chew on the power. Compressor would usually just hum at least if windings were bad, take a second to trip.... Usually.... I like those R12 freezers. I have a few pounds of it. Isobutane mixes nice with it as well.
 
There is a heavier duty version and a lighter version. Like any unloading tool, like a dump bed, it works best in a straight sided box.

For a pickup truck or this service body, it means making a wall inside the wheel wells.

A 4' wide box, 6' tall, and 8' long, reasonably full, could approach 6 yards, which is definitely around a ton+. It might need some chips emptied manually. I never boxed my pick up bed wheel wells, so it was sub optimal. The Load Handler helped. I still have it from 8 years ago. I need to look at possibly mounting it. I don't anticipate chipping into it regularly. It's good overflow in a pinch, compared to a sick in the eye.

Its sucks because I have to take two trucks if I'm chipping.
I have a ford f350 that tows the chipper,
So I was liking your setup

45 min. Ride to first job 3 little oaks homeowner keep all the rounds for
Firewood.Back in the truck,30 min. Ride to next job hacked two swamp maples.
1 and half hour ride home trimmed 3 japmaples.all with 2 trucks...

My months long search has ended. 1980 K30 1 Ton 4x4 dually (same year I was born!). 80K on the chassis, totally rust free, rebuilt plane jane 350 with a TH400 (thanks Jim!) three speed. Ran great all the way home. I'd made up my mind that I was just going to jump in it and pretend like I was driving it home new from the dealership. haha. 330 miles of highway and surface streets right off the bat. I think we'll be happy together 8)

Old Golf Course truck that the guy bought and basically restored. . . OEM panels from Arizona, new paint. Frame and box were blasted and bedlinered. . . I'm psyched.

Also a nice 8' Western plow with all the hookups. Guy never got all the way around to mounting it.

I know a little Jim, but not enough. I thought it would be a TH400 too. Where the 400's 3 speeds? I'll check tomorrow.

Tiny little 15 gallon tanks on it. Had to fill up three times to get her home! hahaha

Thanks man. I'm really happy with it. . . No weird vibrations, smooth and tight steering, new breaks and rubber on the back. . .
 
Thanks George, yeah, I'm going to set it up as a chip truck. It's an automatic transmission, just a three speed. Also going to get the plow frame finished and get all that rolling.

Chippy is going to look good hooked to it I think :D
 
Yes, the 400s were three speeds.

If you crawl under it and the trans pan is square, more or less, it is a 350.

If it is not in the shape of a square it is a 400.

Going to put a new steering column in my K30 tomorrow. Its reeeeeeeeeeeal cherry!
