Too Many Wedge Choices!

I do that often. Not by design..... forgot to bring the big bar....

IF you're cutting straight, and start out level, its easy enough. If you have any overlap, a couple bangs on a wedge frees it up. If you're going to have to move the stump-cut by hand, wedges give the slippery surface that makes it easier.

If you cut well through a stump, with a long bar, it will want to start to settle, if you put two wedges on opposite sides, 60% of the way through, you can cut out the other side, and the stump-cut drops to the starting side, your bar is not weighed down.

I buy and use all the wedges available at one point or another ... have my opinions about them all. My take on the hard heads is they certainly drive better but the harder plastic tends to spit more.
