Just a thought that might be useful.

I had an extra truck at the jobsite.
I'm Uber-ing at the moment.

It's easy where available.
An easily accounted-for expense, aside from a cash tip.

Makes a vehicle shuttle a flexibly timed, single-employee operation.

Works whether you plan to be short a driver, or if an employee is unexpectedly unavailable.
 
Burnham, have you tried? my folks live in rural north Carolina and its there. might take a while and cost a bit but I don't think uber or lyft has boundaries.

No, I must admit I have not. You may well be correct.

I'm sure there are no actual "boundaries". I meant more as a practical matter...I'm over an hour from any even modest sized population center.
