Grippy texture on chainsaw handles

How many here limb trees felled on ground carry saw when limbing instead of letting it sit on trunk?
Do any of you use the thumb/indexfinger loop to run handle thru?

I usually just limb with the saw that I felled the tree with. Lately that's a 545 with an 18" bar sometimes a 372 with a 24" depending on how big the tree was.

I don't really slide my saw that much, but when I can, I do. One form of ergonomic use or another. I don't recall ever 'thumbing' the trigger during limbing, only felling.

Some of us work in hardwoods, Magnus.

I cut hard wood as well before. They had branches all around trunk as any other tree so the maneuvering of saw was about the same, just less frequent. I had saw on trunk when possible in hard wood as well.

Try it. A lot easier on wrist and you get a better and safer grip holding saw with horizontal cuts.
