I'm not sure what kind of desk chair they'd make but we use bean bag chairs on the boat for long offshore trips and it's the best thing going for that. I'm afraid with the big rubber ball I'd probably get bounced into the stratosphere on a big wave.
Just about any seating for long hours requires being able to change position to be comfortable. That might even mean getting up to go lay down. Studies have been done. Having made chairs for many years, and then watching someone sit down in them, I can generally tell if that person with that particular seating is comfortable or not without them saying anything. They might want to ask me.
