Little Stump Grinder

That looks like a great machine, I like those 252's although I've never seen one with 4 wheels. The 3 wheelers are money.

edit- looks like a great price too, I like grinding.

Come to Ohio once a week and do all of my stumps too. I can't stand it! It is the only part of tree work that I don't enjoy. And I'm bad at it.

Also those 252s aren't bad little machines as long as they are sharp. I think you can unlock one of the wheels to make them turn easier too.

Just an idea, throw it in your boat and I'll fish it out of Erie and give it a good going over for you.... no?

Good luck!

Haha. That totally just reminded me of that story "paddle to the sea". Where the little boy sets a carved canoe loose in an inland stream and the story follows it's adventures all the way out to the ocean. . .

I had that same machine. Sharp teeth are an absolute must! Small to medium stumps it does well but anything over 30" is a real drag you have to clean or move the spoils as the pile grows bigger. The nice thing it bounces off rocks instead of destroying teeth so you can get a few sharpenings out of them before they are junk. Plus the access with that machine is awesome. Both drove wheels unlock so you can tow it behind a tractor or similar slow mover. The only problem I had was the operator presence sensors would go bad often.

Grind a few hundred stumps and get back to me on how fun it is. :drink:

But. It does come with the territory I suppose.

I'm for sure not buying that. I was thinking of a 2x2 with a piece of plywood on the end, add some foam.

I like the view from standing/ and shielding by the machine.

WHY don't they sell OEM umbrellas with designed in mounts?

For a long time I wondered why heavy equipment didn't have little awnings/ big umbrellas on them...then they started making them, I believe.

I'm going to have to add that umbrella mount to the welding to-do list.

I had the the rayco 1625, same thing really.

The three wheeled version does tip easily but is incredible at wiggling into awkward spots.

It's a good money maker, boring on the bigger stuff of course, but better than a pedestrian grinder.

Got the grinder and the trailer. Old gentlemen didn't really want to let the trailer go I think, but luckily his wife was in charge of the transaction :)
