Sorry Jerr, but hangin all my body weight from this pistol put an unusual load on a single ratchet supported spool, tryin to bend it out of alignment, all cattywompus n stuff, in short it sucked.

So I changed it, supported axis on both sides, and twice the spool capacity, enough for a hundred feet of cord.

Still alotta weight n excess to be trimmed off n drilled out though.

But I like it mo better.

Seems to me the obvious next step's to integrate a badass saltwater fishing reel, good for Marlins n sharks.

Prototype 8 should be light enough with an aluminum body n such a reel.

Great way to have lunch sent up to you, and would probably work well as an emergency escape tool in a pinch.

Set the drag just so n jump!

So l wake up this morning hell bent on finishing this pistol before the day's out.

But as fate would have it, my search for just the right spring, uncovered an old palm climber gaffs project from years ago.

To cannibalize one project for another?

Staring at my old prototype palm climbers' failings n shortcomings, a super simple solution popped in my head, a quick cheap easy build.

Once an idea lodges itself in your head, it's impossible to ignore.

But I did fashion a better trigger assembly guard housing for Jerr's Pistol. Still ain't found just the right strength spring yet.

So the ARP7's a whisker away from its first real test aloft doin pine removals Tuesday.

Meanwhile testing at home's been quite vigorous. I throw 5 lb weights with it left handed from two steps up a small ladder, landing them fairly consistently 10-15 feet in front of me. Still in search of just the right strength trigger return spring, it's become quite the challenge fo find just the right one.

Dang it!

Yu need to delete my last post Butch, please.

It's an embedding screwup again I'm afraid.

My apologies.
