Just got back from an elk hunting trip on the coast with a couple buddies, a daughter and some other folks I'd never met. Heck of a good time even though we didn't tag out.

That's wide open country Jim. Making memories with Daddy's Princess, I love it. She's got Daddy's eyes. Cool pictures Willie, are those Roosevelt elk in your area?

Took my partner and his daughter to the hunting lease today and she shot her first hog. She was so tickled she almost gave him a kiss. She's a natural, took her first deer with a bow a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah Willie, he was fat as a ....... In fact, there was near zero blood because the fat on a healthy hog closes the holes up. She shot this one with a .270 and he only went about twenty yards but trailing a bow shot hog can be really tough. She was about as excited and proud a hunter as I've ever seen. After the shot she was shaking like a leaf in a hurricane. Her Dad got it all on video.

No elk for us this year either. Great hunt with my family and friends... saw animals, but nobody was able to connect.

Late archery buck has started for us now. Hoping to put more meat in the freezer as I'm almost out of venison from last year. :)

My neighbor goes to Colorado every year after elk. He said it's like shooting a horse, and they almost always roll to the bottom of some canyon. I'd probably be the only person that goes hunting with a Timberjack.

Just got back from a little binge myself. Seeing gobs of deer, hogs and turkeys but didn't fire a shot. Dry as powder down here, we haven't had a rain in a couple of months. Got a water hole at one of my spots and it's crawling with critters coming for a drink.

Wow, about the conditions. Why didn't you try for any?
