In The News...

So, I guess they were spelunking? I sorta missed how/why they were there in the first place.

I heard it was an initiation type thing inspired by the coach. Kinda like, crawl around in these dark scary caves and earn your man badge.

Passed Phase 1. They still have to chop down the largest tree in the forest with a herring... and bring back a shrubbery.

Nothing less...

Thought I heard that they have gotten everyone out of the cave. Glad to hear that.
Awesome news !

Wonder when someone in Hollywood is gonna make a movie about it?

I love it! True heroes that they pulled this off so well.

Very sad that a very experienced Thai Navy SEAL died in the mission to stage the air needed to save these boys:

Saman Gunan.jpg

He was working on the rescue mission as a volunteer when tragedy struck.

It is believed Kunan was attempting to reach a cavern set up as a command centre around 1.2 miles inside the flooded cave system when he ran out of oxygen at around 2am local time (8pm BST).

Kunan was returning to the centre after placing oxygen tanks through the cave's underground network as plans were put into place to rescue the trapped group.

His diving partner rapidly began efforts to revive him, but he was pronounced dead a short while later.

This place was in the news yesterday. Just search for "Smoking Duck Bar and Grill" Selma Fire ... there are several articles. Apparently, fire trucks responded 8:52 am. My image EXIF says this photo was taken five minutes after 9am. And we left and passed the first trunk at 10 minutes after nine. So the trucks got there about 20 minutes after the building was fully engulfed in flames. Both buildings were a crisp when we returned and passed by in the afternoon. This is Selma, Oregon
