In The News...

Piss on em.

How fugging ecologically responsible is it to get all this shit from China?

Here is your new solar panel.....sourced with parts made overseas. We have already released more carbon in the making and transportation of this product than it will ever save.

Hoorah for "green" energy.

I read where the Prius is worse for the environment than a regular car.

But hey....makes us feel better.

Enjoy this odd bass.

Just guessing here Jim, but I'll guess the ships doing the transport cause more pollution than the manufacture of most of what they carry...

It's not about the environment...just in the news.

Too bad it ends up with us paying more or having less choice.

At least when I'm paying more for beef each week than the last I can think maybe you're benefiting from it.

You are right. This is an interesting article from 2009. https://newatlas.com/shipping-pollution/11526/

This more current article confirms that nothing much has changed. https://www.economist.com/news/fina...making-old-ships-less-polluting-green-finance

Keep in mind that "green-finance" is entirely focused on one thing only, the dreaded CO2.

You can enjoy yourself all you want, as long as you follow the law.

Hell's Angels had pretty much cornered the dope market in the whole country.
They really needed to be brought down.

The people they cornered the market from and the people who presumably took over the market after Hells Angels were brought down were more palatable/preferable criminals than Hells Angels were?

It would be my presumption (in Europe anyway) that to a large extent the Angels built up the market from the beginning, the mass consumption of ?illegal? drugs (cannabis, cocaine, heroin) would date from the 60s/70s and they were in place (and had the knowledge of the market through their personal use) to distribute and profit from it.

Certainly in the 80s when I went to festivals to buy drugs it was the Angels who sold it.

There was no single entity in charge of the market before.

Now it is mostly run by competing gangs of muslim immigrants.
We are working on how to get rid of those right now.

When that happens, someone else will take over.

That makes sense. I took from Stig's earlier post that Hells Angels wrested control of the drug biz from another faction, but what you posit makes more sense.
