Obama: If I had a son he might have looked like...

We may never know what his motive was...

nah, he's only got to live 15 more days...then they can start torturing the answers out of him.

I'm aware of your train of thought Ray...enemies of the flag and all that.

The problem is "give them an inch". Once we publicly condone torture as being OK in the civilian justice system where does it end? Or does it just grow, like most things gov't gets its hands on? This is the type of policy that makes me tend to view the current fundamentalist/right-wing establishment as regressionists.

One of the things that is good about our country is the low number of torture/beating obtained confessions.

I'm a little perplexed how he's viewed as a classic ISIS terrorist.

He went to an FBI regional office and went loopy about being mind controlled by intelligence agencies. Hardly covert is he?

He's an Iraq war veteran apparently, with clear and recorded mental health issues.

I've done some googling but cannot find out anything about him being a Muslim, perhaps Bob could provide some verification?

How come it's ok for this guy to have a gun, let alone take one onto a plane, ready to use at an airport?
Time to look in the mirror rather than blaming the bogeyman.

Err, Guantanamo bay?

If the question is how come it's ok for the guy to have a legally owned gun.... As an individual case, obviously it would have been much better if somehow a determination had been made that he couldn't purchase a gun, if he obtained it legally.

Still, I don't see it as much of an argument to say that it is incriminating of too easily legally obtained guns being a major problem within the numbers pertaining to gun violence, when according to what I could find that appears to be the last known fairly reliable source compiled statistics on gun deaths, legally purchased guns are maximum ten percent when used by the purchasers in causing a part of the gun death's totals, for that fairly recent year when the statistics were compiled. Firearms obtained through illegal means are the overwhelming cause of murders resulting from gun use. Apparently it's hard to pinpoint exact numbers, ten percent for that year is stated to cover error, when actually eight percent appears more accurate.

Well I guess they should shut down the illegal gun factories. All guns start life as legal guns. Do they not?

Officially derailed. :D

Aw...still hurting. It looks like "vilified" actors can still live the good life and put on weight, no effect on their caloric intake. A suggestion for Trump supporters to not purchase a ticket to any of her movies, doesn't seem a consideration.

This might explain the bitterness:

The Sierra has had about 4-6 feet fall. But it warmed up last night, freezing level went way up to maybe 9000 feet. Flooding isn't as bad as was predicted. Winds up to 150. All Sierra ski areas closed today. http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2017/01/08/wind-gusts-top-150-mph-in-sierra/

And the Pioneer Cabin Tree fell.... it was cut to be a drive through in 1880...was almost dead, and, with the wind and flooded soil around it, over she went

It's supposed to start cooling right about now, and two more waves coming could drop another 4-6 feet of snow, at much lower snow levels.

Good news is, the Sierra snow pack and all this rain means the Cali drought is over, for this year at least.

Mario's already written about the tree and updated info on the three other drive through trees in the redwoods

To me it's simple, there are the have's and the have not's. Maybe I do not want to trouble myself with further analysis, every time I have I failed to see any significant difference between the ruling left and the ruling right... And I'm pretty sure that the public's idea of left and right have changed more than once in my lifetime.

oops, wrong thread....
