A three strand whoopie or loopie sling is very simple to make and useful in a lot of applications. I haven't seen any instructions anywhere online so here goes. PB250339.jpg
You start by twisting the rope backwards to create a hockle of sorts.

Roll each strand to form a circle, laying them side by side.

Pass the end of the rope through the first circle.

Then through the second and third

Make your back splice in the tail and splice an eye in the other end and Voila, a three strand adjustable whoopie.

I may try and borrow a dynamometer and see what it will take. I've used it with 1/2" for 6-800 pound loads with no problem.

Very Cool Limbrat & Sean, I've used one 10-12 yrs ago, but couldn't figure out how it was made, back then. I'm definitely going to give that a try. Thanks for the pics, they are very helpful.

Well hot damn, it works. Took all of 15 minutes. Didn't make it very big but I don't expect 1/2" 3 strand to do anything big
