Every day is a new adventure on the Avenue of the Giants!

Completely different twist on the Avenue, but have you ever heard of someone doing a natural or mid-wife childbirth along the Avenue of the Giants / Humboldt Redwoods? On facebook today, someone's post about living there most of their lives got me wondering if anybody ever chooses to have their children born in the redwoods.

You can bet lots of Native American babies were born under redwood canopies!

Great pics Mario, as usual.

Gerald Beranek's new Humboldt Redwoods book inspired me to stop by the Eel River the other day.

Other one?

Oh ... I missed how you adjusted it. I thought maybe you found another wide frame similar somewhere in the album. But now see how you fixed it to go across the screen. Did a good job ... like it.

Really a good one, Mario.
Quite the contrast to #43

The "Dark Horse" - Redwood National and State Parks. Took the photo from a hill to show the trunk's lines as-is

That's an unusual crook for a redwood. far and few between. Nice shot!

I was wondering if it was a leaner recently leaned. But after looking at it for a while, I think it took a hard right lean or "crook" like you wrote, early on in life. Maybe when something big pushed and bent it.
