Bird Watching!

Im the furthest thing from an expert but I'll say Red tail hawk.

So they've figured the burning brush pile means food- pretty cool.

Red tailed hawk perched on top of an eagle pole topper. This big bird was circling overhead, hoping to feast on some of the squirrels that had come leaping out of the silver maple we took down. (Slightly different view & bird pose than from the other thread.)

Quoth the Raven - Nevermore!

Saw this fine specimen of work just around the corner from a pruning job we did. The association of black birds and death seemed just so... appropriate!

Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
"Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven,
Ghastly grim and ancient Raven wandering from the Nightly shore?
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!?
Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."

Have one of these in my tree as we speak.

Never seen one up close before.

Baltimore or Northern Oriole.

That one is a bit out of it's normal range for sure.
I would think it would be more normal to see the western form, formerly known as Bullock's Oriole up your way.

Such a pretty bird to have in your tree.

Beauty.

Saw these today. I think they are raven eggs...never saw the parents...may be abandoned.. the nest is wrong for Robin's..

I had some baby killdeer take cover behind my feet once.

I was about ankle deep in shotgun shells and was not going to stop until I was either dead, out of ammo or the winged rats got the idea and left.
