Before & After Tree Care

Pin oak that I dead wooded and did a slight limb lift and tip pruning a few weeks ago

That was on my job. I told my real job groundie that I trimmed a beautiful specimen of a pin oak and he told me there was no such thing.
 
I figured it was safe for quite a long time. Eventually those big wounds could turn to crap. My answer to the question was immediate safety. Long term? Doubt it.
 
Vertical Mulching.. This walnut has some serious compaction issues, water issues and had vines in it. Roots were severed on one side (where most the dead was) for a new septic line. We removed all the dead wood over the structures and any smaller limbs that were crossed over others. Broken limbs that were a possible threat. Removed as little of living tissue as possible.
Drilled a shat load of 2" holes... Bucket after bucket of composted soil with worm castings. Some Super thrive and Fish Emulsion...
Then wood chips.
See how it does over the next couple years.
