    Default Anyone know for sure what this fungus might be?

    It was on a Red Oak. I think I have an idea, but I was looking for conformation.

    Thats not what I was thinking. I have Luleys book at the office and I thought it might be one of his "Big 3". But of coarse I have no idea what the name is now. I will check into it and post here in the next few days.

    the big edible 3? you mean a hen of the woods, aka the chicken of the woods??? maybe, but it is hard to see in the pic.

    the big 3 are morels, puffballs and chicken of the woods shaggy manes and chanterelles rock on too though
