Burnham, I thought you were a Scotch drinker? In that case, it is Whisky. That other spelling is reserved for the poor imitation they make in Kentucky and Tennesee. Which has been hit with a 25% import tax in Europe as a get back to your orange president. Come to think of it, the Irish call...

That fir reminds me of the Boole tree. Sixt largest tree in the world, now that the Washington tree has mostly collapsed. They thought it was the world's biggest when they clear cut the Converse basin, so they left it. A pretty sad sight. It is a bit of a hike out there, so I have had it in...

Burnham, I keep having the feeling that we are arguing about two different things. As we say in Danish: " I'm asking in west and you are answering in east". If we sat down and talked it over, instead of posting back and forth, I'm pretty sure we'd find out that we agree on most of it. Do you...

That was one hell of a great post, Burnham. I'm really glad you took the time to put it together. I probably shouldn't point fingers at you guys for being a bit heavy handed in the way you've dealt with your forests, we killed the last remaining part of our original forests off about 255 years...

I doubt it. My post was in reference to a really old one of Burnham's about tree sitters and protesters. Tounge in cheek, which was of course lost, if you haven't followed the original discussion. My point was that you come in after I have made a number of posts putting me on the side of the...

I think I have proven that it is not taboo to me. Quite the opposite in fact.

Cool, with me. We do those a lot. Clearcutting the whole PNW for fast profit, not so cool with me.

Provided another Weyerhauser doesn't show up in the meantime. You let him have it all for free once, what is to convince me you won't just do it again. Burnham, I don't understand why you don't want to " argue" about this. I don't think of it as arguing, I think of it as discussing it. I love...

Thanks Eric. Given enough time, we might grow to like each other:lol: BTW, you just pissed Butch off no end , by quoting the last post.

Burnham, we've been down this road before. My problem with the way forests were treated in the PNW is that there were virtually no regulations. As an emerging nation, you let most of it be bought up by a bunch of lumber barons like Weyerhauser, who used the homestead act and a lot of cheaply...

Reg, you posted a video where you were going up a large tree and sais something like it made you feel like a f..... rec climber. That totally cracked me up, and has stayed with me ever since. I think I replied back then, telling you about the fun to be had in climbing Sequoias/ Redwoods with a...

Damned, reg. You got that scruffy climber thing that I mentioned down to a T. Hell of an impressive tree. I just took a look in my library. 12,320 cubic feet. Nowhere near the tallest, though : 73 meters/ 242 feet. Mainly because the top has been blown out several times. Do you have Robert...

WOW! And that is to both the tree and the gal. I was, of course, thinking of the picture behind my dining table with ( Shit, I forgot her name) and Lost Monarch. I totally love that one. Countless people have looked at it since I bought it from you, and it is always fun to see that little...

Do like Mario does and put a gal in the picture to better show the scale of the tree. Or if you just don't happen to have a fine looking girl in a red dress handy, a scruffy climber.

That, too. Sure dwarfs all the oaks in Denmark and then some. That was a fine day:) I have a picture of it on the wall in the office, right behind the computer, so no way I can forget that. Off for Norway in 20 minutes, just time to grab a quick shover.

I've climbed all the champion trees of Denmark All except two have been ninja climbs. But honestly, after climbing Redwoods and Sequoias, Danish champion trees don't rteally count for much.
