Any dog that wears a collar is easy to strangle. I've done that a couple of times to beak up fights. Once I was lucky and got a grip on both collars, twisted them till the dogs dropped, held on a few more seconds and let go. Both dogs woke up, looked at each other in a dazed way and staggered...

You can own handguns if you belong to a shooting range club, but you have to be a member for some years before they let you go for the bigger calibers. Too bothersome for me, so I just reload my own stuff. And you also need to have a spotless criminal record, of course. ( which I actually do)...

You'll have a hard time stereotyping me, buddy:lol:

Reloading equipment and components are available, just not for handguns. I brought a shitload of brass and bullets home with me after my failed emigration attempt, so I'll be good for a few years yet. For target shooting, I cast my own bullets, that makes for some cheap rounds.

I reload too, as it is the only way to obtain ammo for a .357 here.

I had a part of my house revired in exchange for treework. With the extreme amount of taxes we pay, barter is good.

You mean the kind where by the time you get to your prey, the vultures have already eaten it?

Not true. How many hunters test the game before they shoot it. Wolves will try several ( one Canadian study shows up to 20-some times) prey animals before exspending the energy to actually attack one. They, like most other predators, don't like to waste uneccessary energy on a futile hunt. A...

Regularly replacing the dominant male with a younger one is beneficial. Replacing him with one that would never have won the place on it's own, but gets the position because all the worthy candidates are turned into wall ornaments is not. When you combine that with wiping out all predators that...

Here hunters are completely obsessed with antlers. Which is why I liked it so much when I worked in Idaho back in 81 and went hunting with a couple of work buddies. We shot a mule deer with a rack on it that would have been a Danish hunter's wet dream, and those boys just cut the head off and...

That is one thing I have against hunting. This quest for shooting bigger animals than the other hunters. It really screws with a population when the best part of the gene pool constantly gets mounted on somebody's wall.

So we can drip a bit of lemon juice on him and swallow him alive, washed down with champagne. What an end to christianity.

Sure, and kill every raptor and small predator within range indiscriminately. Sounds like a fine idea. That is pretty much how we managed to wipe out both grey and golden eagles around here. That, and hunters shooting them for " bothering the game".

I expressed a dislike for using live stuff for target practice. I have nothing against hunting as such. I don't give a shit for the "hunters" we have here, but that is a different story.

That probably depends on your definition of "Game". The Americans love to shoot small critters like prairie dogs at extreme distances, it is referred to as " Varminting". Since those "Varmints" are not considered game, wounding them doesn't seem to matter much. At least that was my impression...

The whole fascination with long range shots seem to be an American thing. Here they are discouraged, both for the above mentioned reasons and for being "poor sportsmanship". That meaning that there supposedly is more of a challenge in sneaking up on the prey.
