    Jay, the russians didn't distinquish between men and women when it came to being soldiers. Some of the snipers with the highest acclaimed kills are Russian women who served during WW2. was my use of " distinquish" corect by the way?

    Warbirds are great. Pinnacle of propeller driven planes. My wife just gave me a picture book about warbirds last week, so I've been drooling over pictures of Mustangs, Zeros, P-38s and all the rest.:)

    Ed, I know all about former British tecnical and industrial superiority. I owned a 1938 Danish buildt Nimbus Motorcycle. Every damned screw and bolt in that thing had a Whitworth taper:) ( hope I spelled that right)

    The Harrier was a great plane, a huge leap in flight tecnology. It has been the leading VTOL fighter for 40 years, now it seems something better has come along. That video was truly impressive ( but then that is what it was made to be!)

    Jay, I'd agree that they could have waited more than 3 days before dropping the second bomb, in order to give the emperor a chance to surrender. I think the Russkies got the message after the first one.
