    I think it was more to do with low speed tuning. If it's too rich on the low side it will transition well, but never reach proper RPM in the cut. Keep in mind that I'm just going by what I've seen when tuning these saws myself, and not from any service bulletin.

    Finding the right tune so it accelerates quickly without bogging, and lean enough to just clean up in the cut is where I want my saws. I'm not a fan of screaming lean saws.

    I just checked the MediaCat in this computer......evidently I need to update it, the 201 isn't even in this version.

    I've never looked it up. I read something about it on AS that Brad Snelling posted. I add some compression, advance the timing, and mod the mufflers on them. Then I just tune them as I would any rev limited saw, in the cut.

    Tune mostly. Stihl put out a service bulletin about how to tune them properly.
