Thank you gents! I never imagined just how much work it would take to build this box. All said and done I am $1200 into the build and have enough tube to build one badass firewood rack in the garage. So that being said if someone were to ask me to build them a box I would say 10g's, three...

Indeed doubles. First coat not a close color match but I can live with for now. Second and hopefully third late tomorrow.

Ready for paint

Adding a step is a good idea you can get up in there now with a bit of a high step but it's not all that easy.

It's six foot inside the box. No bending if you have to pee in the corner for me anyway.

I did see that on FB and Thank You again! I really wanted bullet hinges which are about the same thing you have going on but the set back of the existing "pillars" and swing wouldn't allow those hinges to work.

Chock holders are in the plans and tie down rings are as well but I haven't made them yet.

Yeah I wanted tall gates. I think it's more of over compensating and repressing the memory of just needing a half a yard more capacity to finish out the day.

I have it plated at 16k. If my math is right I should get 16 yards but that is squared off so maybe 13-14 yards in reality.

Thanks guys! Jim flux core is a much slower process even tho I am running .035 wire only half of that is weld metal so you need to watch the puddle closely and hold you toes a bit longer that gas/wire, but the penetration with flux core is much higher. The same settings with gas/wire will...

Some more progress Getting closer. I need to finish a little bit of framing, sheeting, bracing, latch, and paint. Also I saved the brackets that the old tailgate attached to so I can have pin on ramps for the mini later down the road.
