Obviously Gerry is one of the best ever but what puts him over the top imo, is his ability to communicate in an incredibly down to earth manner, whether writing or speaking .
Magnum, do you own his other book "High Climbers and Timber Fallers"? It is mind blowing if you are into that stuff.
Way back in the day, I subscribed to their technical journals. stuff like figuring out all the sines and cosines etc of rigging work. I was fascinated that they put a scientific bent to tree work. After awhile though, all those journals seemed to amount to silly Phd gibberish, I don't miss it at...
