    Training A Crow

I probably mentioned this earlier in this thread, but if not, there is a great book on ravens and their crow brethren, "Ravens in Winter", involving a 'pet' raven. Good read if y'all interested. "One Man's Owl" is another great book about accidental wild bird 'ownership' by the same author.

Wow, Jay, I missed the news that Hank took off, saw you reference it in another thread, sorry to hear!! Great picture of him sitting on the chair back. I'm sure it is sad for you that he booked, but have faith in his instincts to do the right thing. Plus, ya gotta believe that with the...

    Training A Crow

That's interesting. I rescued a baby crow a couple days ago which we unknowingly displaced during tree removal. The rehab place that took him wanted to know exactly where he came from cuz frequently, once he is old enough to put back into the wild, they end up finding and rejoining their family...

That's what Bernd said in his book- ravens can seem wild in the wild but once you catch them they chill right out like all is good...

Fair enough, Thor. I suspected an understanding of the movie might help put the crow thing in perspective.

    Training A Crow

Ha, yeah litter has always annoyed the f outta me. But I rarely picked it up until a hot young girl splained things to me. We were in Yellowstone years ago and encountered some trash left by some crap-faced folks. So I was ranting about it and she said, 'you can just pick it up.' Lol, that...

    Training A Crow

Jim, I mean that if the crow was actually blown up, or if it was simulated, I didn't see what the point was. Maybe I need to know what the movie is about to understand. But generally, animal abuse or torture or wanton destruction is a very bad thing and people that do it or like to watch it...

What was cool about the crow exploding. Things like that strengthen that which is bad.

    Training A Crow

Wow sounds cool. Bernd Heinrich is a noted biologist who raised several wild birds including owls and ravens. "Ravens in Winter" and "One Man's Owl" are I believe 2 book titles of his, good and fun reads and you would probably learn a lot of relevant stuff if you peruse them.
