50-1 here too. If you see gray, that's good, black would be bad?

That sounds like a treat, Bill. Tucker, interesting re the carbon. How does one know if there is a carbon problem in a saw without taking it apart?

They are very smooth. They must have beefed up or advanced AV. I haven't had a problem with boring. They came with skip chain which was certainly more kicky than full comp, but not bad overall. I like the full comp best, it cuts as fast or faster than skip, you can shave a box more open easier...

FTR, the 576s are great since being repaired after messing the bed early on. They are a dream to cut with. Anybody following this thread who is turned off by their early troubles and would therefore not buy one, I understand. But if you need a sweet, fast- cutting, easy to use saw, I would...

Chris, yes I know, I owned a bunch of the old 372s; legendary saws. Holmen, you may be right, I just know it was new about 7 months ago.

It's almost brand new. I bought 3, traded in the 2 worst ones, kept this one cuz it cuts well

I still have a 372xp, it is a decent saw but it starts poorly. The 576 starts easy- 3-4 pulls when cold, 1 pull when warm.

Well I got the saw back with a new carb and new electronics. That thing is just a sweet machine, maybe it will stay running longer than a couple weeks. I think it is the sweetest cutting saw I've ever used. Perhaps it is like the 562 that everyone raves about, but it has 5hp vs the 4hp in a 562...

Thank you. They are an amazing saw (when they run....:/:) They are the kind of saw that makes you cut better, if that makes any sense; just after I bought the saw we cleared a big lot, alot of big tall trees, I usually try for precision cutting, but I noticed that every stump I made came out...

Got the repaired 576 back from the dealer following its second breakdown. They put in new carb and electronics. Runs great again, we'll see for how long. I will say again though that when they are running right, the 576 is a dream of a saw.

I don't think they do, my dealer only had the auto tune. I kept one of 372's I bought before, the best of the bunch, and it is pretty good. Starting is fair at best but it cuts well.

Ha, good one, CV! I put a quarter tank thru one of em, it was a screaming eagle till it pooped the bed, again. So I grabbed the other 576 and it made it thru the day just fine, but fully expect it to poop out in the near future. Dealer says the are going to replace all electronics in the saw...

Update on 2 576's: they each cut like hell on wheels for a couple weeks then each pooped the bed about a week apart. One suddenly started running like crap, very boggy, and the other stalled at idle and wouldn't restart. Had to use my one good running 372 to get me thru till they were...
