The Dolmars are strong runners in stock form, and just plain badass once ported. A muffler mod on a stock saw doesn't really do much for a 7900, though. The only difference between the 7900 and 7910 is the muffler, and the coil is limited to a bit lower RPM... 12,900 vs. 13,500 for the 7900...

Please explain how a Dolmar 7910 will fall apart. I'd like to see some actual evidence of that.

Did anyone mention the Dolmar 7910? You can get a brand new one, ported, for less than $1000...

Dolmar 7910 would definitely be my choice, if I were buying a new saw. Great power and AV, easy to work on, reliable, and less expensive than Stihl or Husky.
