Anyone run the HH on Poison Ivy? Or used HRC for the hitch?

Agreed. However when people replace their cord it is reasonable to assume that most won't whip it, I imagine tape will be a simple solution

The whipping came off mine almost right away. Some black tape fixed it up

I am not sure what the rope is... for a while I thought it was samson vortex, but it isnt. It was given to one our trainers by our head training and recruiting officer, it looks exactly like the "lightning green' lanyard on page 8 of the current Sherrill catalog or for a crappy resolution...

Have you tried any of the 8mm stuff Dave? How long are you cutting cords too with the new dogbone? I tried a 4/1 distel but cant get a 4/2 or a 5/1 distel to tie with the 10mm beeline that was included. The 6/0 vt or 'HH Knot' works well but I need to have it tied extra tight to ensure it grabs...

The Hitch Hiker is the only ascent/descent device that works on a line loaded with bodyweight below the user. You can easily ascend and more importantly descend on the rope while a partner is below you. To me this a whole new area that it can impact. I have done a lot of 3rd and 4th class...

How is everyone holding the HH up while ascending? I saw Daves picture But It looks like that might be a bit uncomfortable when leaning back, if not preventing you from leaning all the way back. Dave? Interested to know what everyone is using, chest harness or a lanyard over the shoulder...

A french prussic or english prussic is a girth hitch with extra tucks. Commonly known as simply a 'prussic' its the most basic friction knot whether there are 2, 3, or 4 wraps. The first one is definitely a 5-1 VT, you wrap fives time (coil) and braid once. Whether the cord terminates to to...

I agree about the 5-1vt . The stopper looks like a double fishermans aka grapevine knot. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

I have been called Boner my entire life.. at first I hated it, it never stopped. One day I introduced myself "I'm Nick, my friends call me Boner". My older friends do still call me that, it has proven for some interesting introductions over the years. Some of my friends parents even know me...
