wedge to pull the chain tight, or is this to wedge the tree over instead of pulling on the top too hard?

its hard to find a good ratchet strap, all mine end up slightly bent and never work right, the strap is easier to get around a pole aloft, ive only ever strapped a tree together twice (in the air) both pine and both under 12" diameter the one time I did it on the ground I had I think 4 straps...

all mine are either keeper or smart strap brand I think, TSC special when I needed straps, I think 3300 pound WLL and like 16K break strength or something gonna be honest, even in a tree to hold a codom together, id use chain, ive almost 100% gotten away from straps unless its really tiny...
