Yes, Willie. But giving them an extra percentage based on gross is not necessarily the best case. If you reinvested $200,000 in iron, from money made by a good crew, then a part of that should be considered. If you pay them on money that pays for insurance, wages, non-building the business...

Gross receipts doesn't mean squat. If you Gross $1M, and profit $50... I'd rather take home $xx,xxx company profit out of $100,000, than out of $600,000. Net. Most tree people wouldn't be motivated by such a plan. If they would be, they're more likely to get their own name on the door of...

Sure. It's done right by me, too. I don't have a grcs. You can always piggyback another m:a to multiply the advantages, as well. I can see how useful a grcs would be on the right trees. Just few of mine. Storm work is the rub, if you can't wait to order a grcs, you're stuck.

4:1 or 5:1 is little compared to 22:1 or 44:1. That being said, if you aren't lifting at a maximum, porty solidly attached to the frame, and right-pedal-judicious-power can go along way, if you have the room. Long Island, maybe not so much. I wonder about a porty and rope for rigging, and a...

I figured that in your market, Chris. Wraptor, APTA, and Senas go a long with the want-to-be-home types. Some wouldn't care less about anything but the bottom line, and tree gone or pruned within their ability to perceive. Transferring from one tree to another brings out some subconscious...

So much rigging is site/market-dependent and crew- dependent. Someplaces, bringing out $10k in rigging gear to get a similar job done as a NC'ed rope, alone, can accomplish, might earn or lose you clients. Some folks are more impressed by the fancy things, and techniques, and will pay a high...

Seems like maybe some trunk wrap, with a ring, would work nicely. How does the rope advance through the THT when the climber is remotely positioned relative to the THT. I haven't used a POW in a tree, except maybe once. The Belay Spool is meant to advance the line easier than the POW when...

Damn Cartilage. Why don't your grow new? I'm optimistic about stem-cell research. We all will need some extra cushion. I used to do a lot more removals when I started, and have developed more pruning skills/ customers/ rep. I used to choke my climb line and stand in spurs for hours, resting...

You're funny, Chris. I natural crotch most removals, because there is no point in trying to go big. I generally don't have the room, or I bomb it. Next step up is a Belay Spool, and as a last resort, heavy blocks and POW. That being said, I watched the THT videos last night, and I'm...

Sean, here, David. No. I haven't. I think I just found it on Google Images. What does THT abbreviate? Oh, yeah, the Belay Spool is limited to 1/2" rope.

Personally, I look forward to using them. I like some top side friction, frequently going for a Belay Spool. I actually would like it if the rings were higher friction, so more top-side friction, but not as much as the BS, and it would allow more (energy-absorbing) rope into the system than...

Actually a fallacy I've been told, but without confirmation. The later-in-the-day-eating birds have more food in them by the time of the cold temperatures of night, whereas the early bird does get the worm, but is pushed off by more dominant birds later in the day for feeding opportunities...
