super small chipper/ homeowner sized chipper for small jobs.

Totally a niche machine. For me, the trip to the yard waste dump is 40-60 round trip, roughly, plus unloading time. I hope to chip slowly, and avoid a lot of the dragging time, plus collateral impact and/ or remediation of it (lots of trips on wet lawn, especially a hill; minor scrapes along...

Looks nice, Chris. My mechanic was borrowing an 18 HP little chipper from a friend. Looked about right. Is your the cs 100 16/18 HP?

Three fruit trees today, vertical reduction and thinning after neglect, in the back yard, uphill a long drag from the street. Could have used the mulch under said fruit trees. 2 yards of chips to haul off site.

How well did it chip the hand pruners?

HOw is the center of gravity on it, for towing cross slope?

What i mean is that in the video the operator puts in several foot long sections of dead wood. I'm curious about limbs. I know there is side-cutting/ weakening required. I didn't realize its 24 hp. More than I thought. It would be nice not to tie up the mini, nor require the mini go out on...

stephan, I'd like to see a video of you guys feeding that in a production way.

Chipper 4400 pounds, mini 2600 pounds. It would have drug me right down the driveway. I think that the ABS didn't work for some reason. I wonder if you have to be at a certain speed. The chipper has pushed me on a less steep, better traction driveway when I wasn't lined up straight.

Very interesting idea, Merle. I almost get pushed into a tree going down a damp, mossy driveway yesterday. Trailer brakes certainly would have helped, but my chipper is only 4400 pounds. I barely had enough traction on asphalt to pull it back up today. There is thicket of invasive laurel...

So I've rethought this idea. What about a mini-loader ( 15gpm, IIRC) mounted chipper. Anybody have any experience? I have a lot of mossy, steep driveways down by the water. I almost slid into a tree getting down there. The mini would be easy to take right to the brush on a lot of jobs, if I...

Hard to say. A good question to ask. How much wear and tear is saved on trucks, how much fuel savings, how much time is saved by dropping the chipper/trailer and doing bids, errands, etc while an employee does basic work? Part will depend on what deal I can find. $200, $400, $600. The more I...

How crazy is that? I'd be happy to make a chipping run every other week. Never heard of it happening locally.

The flexibility and extra towing make the pickup useful frequently, and noted about the expense. Breakdown issues and peace of mind of having another truck mobilized factor in, too. I leave the chip truck and chipper at jobs overnight, and drive all the valuable tools home at night, too...

Ideally a one ton 4x4 flatbed, dump with removable sides. Money. I'd like to get a chipper bracket figured out for the arbor trolley. Ya, Raj, that's all I'm talking about. Super small jobs. I think that the longer I'm in business, the more I can consolidate jobs within different parts of...

My pick-up has a contractor's canopy with a homemade bed slide. About every inch has something (saws, rigging, climbing, Arbor Trolley, pole tools, yada yada. Mostly overkill for the winter, but you never know what the neighbor has. One day it might be a pruning job, the next a 100' fir removal...

Yes, a dump trailer in time, but not for a couple hundred pounds of fruit tree water sprouts and little pruning jobs. I have three single axle trailers, from 750 pound payload up to about 3000, which currently can haul mini behind chip truck or pick up, and costs 5-10 times what a little...

Need a bigger p/u truck for a dump trailer, and still have brush to deal with.

I'm seeing 3" capacity, 8 hp Bearcats in the $600-900 range on Craigslist. Seem to come up regularly. Winter is a time for clean-up, as well as fall (and spring and summer), so I hope that there is just a floating supply of them over time.
