Adrian, I'm afraid I have to agree with the others on the Cooper. It looks like a hitch designed by somebody still used to using a Blake's without a hitch tender. When I first ventured into the world of advanced hitches, the best piece of advice I ever got was "keep the hitch as short as...

I live alone in a three bedroom, two bath house. I have an entire bedroom set aside just for my computer and desk. Plenty of space for dual 24" monitors. For my next upgrade I'm getting a huge flat screen tv to hang on the wall and use as my monitor. Paul, the HH looks great! Looking forward to...

Wow, what a fantastic thought! I never even considered that scenario but that is an excellent point.

So it still works fine with less load. Have you tested to see how it handles with extra heavy loads? Determined the upper range of effectiveness? I'd imagine anything over 350 lbs or so would be inconsequential.

If you would bother looking up the facts on Google then you wouldn't be thinking about the McDonald's lawsuit. Go read the facts and then tell me why this was a frivolous lawsuit? Intentionally serving coffee at 185 degrees plus even after repeated injuries over several years is not frivolous.

Brendon, anything that opens would have to be triple locking in order to be compliant for life support. Although the bolt with lock nut and washers in Dave's picture is closer to what I was thinking.

I'm not digging the dogbone piece simply because it eliminates the ability to easily remove and retie your hitch. I'd rather see a something that could be removed when necessary without having to untie the double fisherman's knots. As it is this system is pretty much locked to your rope...

I know June is a long way off but perhaps we can incorporate some testing time at the East Coast GTG. It would also add some additional purpose to the event. :)

That was my thought as well. Can it be shortened up a little? My limited experience with SRT was only for ascending into a tree, I always worked off DdRT. I didn't really have a descent system for SRT although I did have my hitch tied on the rope as my backup. I would use a handled ascender on...
