    Wonder if you'd have any luck with a used saw from a saw builder like Mastermind Saw Works (member here), which I just mentioned in August Hunicke Videos thread. He has a saw builder reference there, too.

    For whatever its worth, an experienced miller, who does demo's for Granberg off-handedly mentioned that chainsaw milling in the rain is good, as the saw is cooler (and maybe less dusty). Maybe high humidity can better draw heat off the cooling fins. Stands to reason.

    If you are looking at it as an investment to provide lumber for a building, invest in another saw. Keep small saw for small jobs, big saws are hard pressed for milling. If you're around hardwood, you will need a big saw. You'll wear out a small saw prematurely, I think. If you can, make your...

    Chainsaw milling can make something light enough to move to a bandsaw. That's my interest. Odd crotches, and wide stuff, too. 2x6s are readily available at Home Depot.
