    Not exclusively. I really think many trees would tolerate it. I can't remember what varieties I've seen do that, but they weren't ficus. Possibly hackberry or osage.

    Lots of trees do that and live a long time. I've seen trees with all the dirt washed out from around and under the stump just leaving the live tree suspended by its roots.
