Thought so. Dont panic, once in a blue moon I completely run out of work, no enquiries, nothing in the diary, nada. Just keep on, the phone will ring, put out a new ad on FB or in a magazine. Fix some machinery, maybe even phone a few bids that you didn’t hear from. Part of running your own...

I saw another tree guy on FB recently saw he was 9 months booked out, seems to have no decent gear. Clearly not pricing right. As for me, steady as she goes, not fighting them off with a shitty stick, but working every day.

Sure, there are different demands on different businesses due to geograhy, competition, debt levels, employees and even ambition. I’m hoping for three more years till I’ll join you in (semi) retirement.

In an ideal world you’ll always be working next door. But it’s not like that, localish today then a two day job an hour away Wednesday/Thursday and a bit further Friday for a one off priced from photos. I don’t enjoy it, theres more likelihood of losing money if it overruns or a machine breaks...
