Trouble is the dog loves the full 4 seater, she won't be happy!

Here's a better one with the vanity plate. I'd really arrived!

Well the wife and I were in Angouleme (our biggest local town) and we talked over me getting a new truck. It looks like for good reasons, business mostly, I'm going to be sensible and get one of these on lease/hire. In France unlike the UK you cannot put a true 4 seater on your business expenses...

Very nice, the wife and I have agreed a swimming pool is this years splurge. I've upgraded the truck, chipper and grinder this last 18 months so maybe something for her is in order.

Those mogs look good but they're a lot of money for something that does a lot of jobs....not quite as good as tractor (which is very cheap)

I like a good second hand pick up, too much new is scary. Muddy dogs and reversing into chippers/trailers till you feel a bump is more comfortable than thinking "that just cost me a grand" when you misjudge a turning into a tight gate.

I may be wrong about the Toyota/Vw link btw (after googling)

Yeah I know, I just drove my mates and then the black one came up for sale, then all of a sudden I was 17 again And I thought "I could have that" then I went to bed, woke up and I was 51 again!

I've had jap pick ups for a long time. Toyota/Nissan/ford (rebadged Mazda) they are super reliable, rust free all round top quality vehicles. Plus a Land Rover which was the worst thing I ever bought. They don't stir the blood or turn heads but they are bloody brilliant at what they do.

You make a fair point, my BIL has an assortment of fast vehicles from an E type jag to some kind of racing lotus, I can honestly say they don't interest me one bit. I'm losing my hard on for this a bit and starting to look at grapple trucks now!

Appreciate it Matthew, I'm a man who has made more than his share of mistakes, I try to think long and hard about this stuff. I find that a 5 day period of reflection usually works.

Jim is right of course, this purchase would be guided by my nuts rather than my head, common sense dictates that I spend that sort of money on a grab truck. There are also issues here about being too flashy, in order to run around in a head turner like this you have to be squeaky clean business...

Didn't know that, I'll look into it.

Cost is €40000, it's about a year old, ethanol is €3.50 a gallon as opposed €7.00 for petrol.

That's what I'm after! (Opinions) TBH I have absolutely no idea about these sort of vehicles, I run a 2.4 diesel ford pick up over here and that draws admiring glances!

Yes its 4wd, that's essential. Propane yes that's it. As for diesel, with ethanol it should ease the fuel costs a bit, it has to be petrol because they sound soooo cool. (Did someone say mid life crisis?)

Ok Petrol heads! I'm looking at one of these, it can run on ethanol and also has a gas conversion. Not petrol I mean natural gas or something I don't know what you call it over there, plus it can run on petrol. 290 hp or thereabouts, I know it's fairly mundane over there but over here it would...
