    Worn out Decompression Valve

Dealers are often told what to say and think even. Brands teach them what to say if product fail. Often its operator or fuel, settings was popular to put blame on until they removed setting screws. Now they find something else to blame. Lean running saws is saws that run hot from not enough...

    Worn out Decompression Valve

Loosing compression is not like a air leak. You still have lubrication and correct fuel mix. It will loose power and could have bad idle. I did this a few times. It feels hollow and sounds different. Put it to wood and its powerless. The 357 and most non X-torq saws with decomp at side has a...

    Worn out Decompression Valve

If valve is defective it will loose power, run as plug was loose. In itself it can't destroy engine as it can't fall in as hole in to cylinder is just 1,5mm in diameter.

He changed his mind after he ran it a couple times he said. Quote "I promiced the loggers next model should have decomp valve...

    Worn out Decompression Valve

No, there is a tension washer I think. The Sweden made Companion MS1 had decompression valve in late 50's. Many saws with larger engines had them before this. 1916 The Sector saw was made and it had valves to open and give it a little schnapps before cranking as well as release a bit pressure.

    Worn out Decompression Valve

Its not just to drill and tap a 10mm hole straight in cylinder wall. Hole to chamber were decompression valve sit in cylinder is 1-1,5mm. If its bigger flame can get in and create heat. It takes a bit practice and very good drills to do this right. Not all you can do it on even if it looks possible.

    Worn out Decompression Valve

If it closes its closed positive pressure will keep it closed and if spring is good it will hold it closed when there is negative pressure. Easy to test. Stick it in your cookie trap and suck. If you can't get it to open its likely ok. I seen many valves gone bad over the years. This was a...
