That would be a bummer. Better than a blown up rifle though.

3750 fps is cruising Jim. Will the dies for that cartridge neck the 6.8 down properly or would you have to buy brass? I've transformed quite a few 30-06 into .270 by simply running it through the resizing die and I don't own an 06 so I don't have to worry about getting them mixed up. I'm not...

That is a brute of a buck. I've got an eligible bachelor son that needs a good wife if she changes her mind;)

Very nice 'Bama buck. Beam tips almost touch, great brow tines and good looking backstraps! The rut should be kicking there right now. I like your deer retrieval device.

 Jim, when we went up in the high country in Wyoming there was a bird they called a blue grouse. I haven't researched them but they showed very little fear or maybe were just stupid like your sage hen and those guys said they were good to eat. They sounded like a turkey when they took...

Beautiful birds Scott and a fine looking over/under as well. In all my hunting and shooting, I've never owned or even fired one. Looks like they're marked the same, are they all males?

The regular 25-06 is a deadly deer cartridge too Jim. An apprentice of mine killed several truckloads with his and I imagine with 75 grain bullets it would be sudden death on coyotes shot anywhere but a toenail. I'm curious how barrels hold up to maximum loads cruising at 4,000 fps. I guess the...

Never shot one but I imagine the recoil on that 444 would be pretty substantial.

Over 3,000 ft-lbs at the muzzle is serious energy. I've been threatening some of those LEVERevolution loads for an old Marlin 30-30 which was my first deer rifle. I'd like to shoot one more with it and maybe a hog or two for old time's sake. It's good to shake up the peta types every now and...

Nice! Looks like the 444 is bad through the bone. Are you shooting hand loads?

It's the same with our whitetails here too Willie. We've got a lot of trail cameras on our property and get many pictures of big bucks that are never seen in the flesh. Their ability to evade man is almost supernatural. That's why I love hunting them.

That's a brute of a buck. Stig, most people in the U.S. go for big racked bucks too, but we have more of them now than ever before. Even though in your experience and understanding that is contradictory, it really shouldn't be. Deer are managed here (particularly on private land) to allow them...

Either or, but look at those backstraps! My wife's got some cooking now but after a low country boil at lunch I'm not quite as enthused as normal.

Hey, I love it! Nice buck too. It's great to see him still enjoying the outdoors, and even passing a good 8 point. I can't wait to see a picture of him with that 15 pointer.

Wow, I see the archery world record is only 25 inches bigger. Do you stalk them, hunt out of a tree stand, ground blind?

Never seen one face to face, but from everything I've seen and read, that looks like a really big one to me Willie.

Naw, I guess the bounty days are over Butch. They are really tough on all wildlife here too Squish, fawn survival rate is extremely low, quail and rabbits are nearly nonexistent. They didn't get here until the '80s and we did just fine before that without them.

Okay, here we go! I'm braced up and tied in twice. The crossbow yote was one of the biggest I've seen around here.
