Here's a trick question for all of you experienced crane takedown climbers.
60 ton crane with jib fully extended at 130 feet up, a leaning conifer that's 150 feet tall.
What's the safest means of taking that top working in conjunction with the crane guys?

Jib's are dangerous big time for anything but the lightest picks, IME.
One of the best tree seminars I ever attended had the owner/manager of our biggest crane outfit as a featured speaker. And good ole Sam played us a home movie VHS tape, where a 60 ton crane with his jib fully extended...
The CDF test for getting the LTO's a piece of cake to pass Stephen.
It's coughin up the 15k to get bonded that choked me!
That was about 8 years ago though, probably gettin bonded's far more expensive now.

Well, rationalizations for choosing a weaker anchor setup, to save a few seconds can still get both of yu's killed mates.
Back in 06 on Lake Arrowhead's HOA, I was up over 100 feet simply cuttin and pushing laterals in the general direction I wanted them to fall, when the tail of my wire core...

But the lifeline anchoring technique made me cringe a bit. Why not around the trunk? Why just a lateral?
