When Stihl used to sponsor my chainsaw competition back in the day they supplied 046 and 460 Magnums. Great saws, the saws were stock but I found the 046 won more races then the 460 Mag with big filter and dual outlet muffler. I'd always try to put those 2 together in the event at the same time...
But having said that if you're in steady softwood, I know timber fallers in the PNW logging daily with 046/460 with 32" . But saws are kept sharp running full skip chain.......
It'll handle a 32" alright doing random cuts. It's not like you're logging daily 7 hours a day with it. But you'd be pushing the oiler output on it in some steady cutting. Why the big heavy double west coast dogs?
All round ground saw choice? I can't imagine buying a used saw from a stranger off eBay.
Invest in the most advanced big bore saw on the market..... MS661 CM
I demoed one last summer and I was very impressed, my 395XP now seems like a overweight dinosaur .
