    Which new mid-sized saw?

Sean, I own a 338XPT and been running it for about 3 years now, it's been a good saw for me. I'm waiting for my new T540XP to come to my dealer so I can't comment on the 540 yet. The 334/335/338XPT is a 20 year old design now so let's say it's a little outdated. I have confidence the 540 will...

    Which new mid-sized saw?

Yes I agree. But as I said earlier the 2011 IPLs show that the 560 & 562 shared those same part numbers. Maybe they had it right in these first series of saws if they changed later.

    Which new mid-sized saw?

This morning I ordered a av spring mount for my 562 and the # my dealer has on his computer is completely different from my 2011 IPL . I think my IPL's are from Husqvarna USA which might be the difference in #'s.

    Which new mid-sized saw?

Just checked my 2011-06 IPLs for both the 560 and 562, they both share the same carb #579 19 41-01, same P/C assembly #575 35 58-01. They even share the same clutch assembly. Differences are in the different crankcase bar pad configurations. The large mount b/c 562 has a slightly larger oil...

    Which new mid-sized saw?

Yep saws got my foot in the door. I even went with the whole Madsen family and their staff to a timber fallers barbeque that they sponsored. I met alot of guys who tested Stihls prototype saws notably the 064 and 084. Sam's a great guy , say hi to him for me and tell him Willard is still making...

    Which new mid-sized saw?

The 562-560 are basically the same saws except the 562 has the large bar mount pad to accept b/c the larger Huskies like the 372-395 have . The 560 with the small mount bar mount like the 338, 346,550. The 562 oil tank is a wee bit larger capacity and if I'm not mistaken the 560 has a lighter...

    Which new mid-sized saw?

Yes if your gonna do a video demo cut a 14" poplar round and make it impressive:D The 365-372XPs are going the way of the Stihl 044-066, excellent for their day but todays saws are developed for another generation of wood cutters way into the future. Take the 372XP for example, same basic saw...

    Which new mid-sized saw?

Trust me I own a 372 I bought new in 2007 one of the early models everyone raves about. Great saw and still runs strong for me. But now a days I'll grab my 562 before I grab my 372. 2nd best saw I owned was my first Stihl 064 I bought new in 1986 when I was hand falling. Those early 064s...

    Which new mid-sized saw?

The 562XP is a hot rod right out of the box, best running saw I ever owned in 40 years. Only saws I ever got ported were for competition use only, for work saw my chain filing skills and a muffler mod is all I need for the type of wood I cut. If your looking to buy 2 rear handles and 1 top I...

    Which new mid-sized saw?

The Husky 562XP is what you need to fill that gap in the stable that you have. In the tree you may want to try the 550XP and on the Stihl side the new MS241 looks promising. Madsens won't steer you wrong, I've done business with them since the early 1980's when Ralph Madsen [Sam's dad] was still...
