BTW that Stihl rep who brought me that 038 to my chainsaw shed behind my house trailer on that hot summer day in the early 1980s was Steve Meriam.
Steve today is Stihl's manager of national sales and product development at Virgina Beach.8)
Same here Stig. I muffler modded my 372XP a while back and I had to make it stock again. The saw puts out plenty of power without it. Only exception is my little Husky 338XPT top handle which definately needed it, but the saw is only used not that often anyways, same with my 346XP.
But I have...
Yes my memory of my 034 [and trying out a 036] back in the pulpcutting days has slightly faded...........maybe it was just the bulkiness of the 362 that threw me off.:D
Ha, I can imagine where you got your information:lol:
I remember not that long ago from talk on these forums about any saw with an outboard clutch is a POS, now the latest rave is the outboard clutch Husky 560/562.

The 362 is an excellent choice Nora. A while back I almost bought one to back up my 346 and 372 Huskies, would have fit between them real nice , but instead happened upon a brand new 272XP.
My 066 Magnum dual exhaust outlet is too, but the longest lasting saw I ever owned.
20 yrs old now and still running strong with the cylinder never being removed.
My favorite saw I have ever used and still would be today if it was still new is my first Stihl 064 I bought new in the summer of 1986.
This first year 064 was 14.1 lbs [same weight as the 046] with 85cc.
