My CMI stainless, I am just careful to set my blocks so they hang right to the line. Never had issues nor did I have to round them.
Want a couple of those DMM though. Maybe next year. I have plenty of gear to get the job done and rope needs retired and replaced first.
Way I see it, if you go over the 1/2 or 5/8ths rigging line and are using 3/4 - 1", you best be accessing the tree as your definite weak link in the system.. :lol:
That was sort of my point about taking a hit I stated earlier.. A hit to the ground if someone dropped it. A smack on a rock from a drop could really compromise aluminum. IMO
Of course we all know no one here would ever accidentally drop their block out of a tree :/:

The only thing I have of theirs is the HC Pulley. I really do love the thing. I think it was worth the money to have in my kit. You won't see me spend that kind of money on a block that looks cool. I would rather the CMI and pretty much prefer steel blocks and pulleys for rigging. I would hate...
