    Lots of stuff to know about bees. I learned most of what I know by reading and learning the hard way. Nicer, or easier at least, to have someone who knows show/tell. Helping a beekeeper for a little bit would be ideal, I would think.

    When you get a hive that is just plain nasty, you can replace the queen. When the old bees die off the temperment of the hive will change.

    Farmers markets usually have someone who sells honey and honeycomb. If you find a local dealer you will be suprised at the variety of different kinds of honey available- basswood, buckwheat, fall flower.
