    If I'm running ropes I'll sometimes run forward a few paces, I'm unsure if its technically more effective.... to me the logic is that there's less friction to be controlled by hand alone if already moving forward - unsure but likely common practice

    I know sweet fa about buckets but I'd hazard a guess that the fiberglass deteriorates after accumulated mistreatment/general wear and tear/the elements. Its not the most robust material.

    ^That's right, we rarely will do that butt it creates the desired affect.

    Its called the "Ox Block" I believe-still, its no substitute for competence.
