I'm not familiar with coyotes so I thought it was a fox. Cory echoed my thoughts- the guy looks to have an appetite for rodents, no?
Is it a genuine pest species?
Yeah many people feel that way about Magpies but so far that's first time one has been a nuisance to me personally. They attack cyclists a bit- doesn't bother me.
I had a friggin bird try to steal a fancy pork crackling samich out of my hand yesterday. The damn thing swooped down and had its claws and beak in it for a tiny fraction of a second then made off. It was a magpie which are related or part of the same family as crows-they usually swoop at this...
I learnt yesterday that sausage dogs were specifically bred to hunt Badger.

Cory the figure does seem high however its hard to judge based on the vastness of the ocean combined with the population of Asia. I'd say its still feasible that there could be 8000 odd fisherman on the water at any one time, targeting sharks, averaging 1 per hour.
Cory it has some gruesome footage but it also has some interesting factual information from scientists etc, if you have your doubts then probably leave it... but at least be aware, 73 million de finned and thrown back alive , yearly..
*It wasn't posted merely for for the sake of being shocking- more to elaborate on the scale of destruction being meted out to our oceans, there's a fair bit commentary including Paul Watson (founder of Green Peace/ Sea Shepherd).
The only reason I mentioned it was that I was invited to do some tree work at an animal refuge through a friend, the place was not open to the public. The owner also operated an automotive suspension manufacturing facility. Story goes the animal refuge was operated at least primarily as a tax...
Its likely that's how the boardroom discussions went- I'm no business mastermind but it does also appear short sighted-likely to attract bad P.R. On the other hand the entire facility maybe run as a tax write off for the owners, being a wildlife "refuge".
Yea Cory one can hope- I saw the dolphins and thought they actually were in separate sections. The size of the enclosure demonstrates the cruelty of the owners , it obviously should be much larger.
I originally meant the poor fish as those conditions would take it to insanity- its a widely accepted fact that solitary confinement is a form of torture.
I wouldn't be surprised if in that situation its regarded as "acceptable risk, collateral damage etc". Either way, its the pinnacle of sacrifice and dedication to duty.
