I didn't think about lifting the machine with the bucket. That would certainly make a big difference, so long as the operator was reliably doing so. But I still have my doubts. All day on a soggy lawn and you can't tell it was there, eh? Bet I could tell, and easily :). Whatever...carry...

I'd think the excavator would be as hard on turf as a miniskid...even worse, because it is bigger and heavier.
