Yeah, I'm not going to start chasing them all over the globe...but it was mighty impressive and I'm very glad to have experienced it. A bucket list item that I didn't know I should have on my list!

Totality was amazing. I've seen 95% or so once in the late 1970's, and yes it was underwhelming. This was a truly magic event. One of the very top tier experiences of my life.

I hope y'all are right. Make life much easier if it were so. But I'm not holding my breath for it...forecast 1 million visitors to a state with a total population of well under 4 million, all concentrated in a 70 mile wide by 350 mile long strip. That could get ugly.

Little prick was right...state law :). We the public are deemed too stupid to safely pump our own :). Funny thing is, prices for gas are not higher, and often are lower than in WA, ID, CA and western states farther away as well.

Might be a blessing, considering how the public safety officials here are talking doom and gloom over how many visitors are coming to Oregon, and how difficult it is going to be to supply gas, groceries, emergency medical services, etc. Especially in the face of the extreme wildfire hazard...
