Ok. The other hose. I was pretty amazed at how straight forward this is for the most part.

Yeah. Jay. They are as you described. The pumpside has the gasket under the cap with the screen in t he middle with the other rubber piece to the carb. Stephen. I'm still looking for that head hose. The breather I opened and cleaned, nothing in there.

Now. After putting everything back together it only coughs with the choke. The same kinda problem....though seems like after I replaced fuel line and before carb "rebuild" I could keep it going with revs but wouldn't idle. Now, I do not realize my error. :)

Whoops. Nevermind. Realized my error.

So yeah... on my way. I replaced the pin, lever and rod and gaskets on the metering side...went well. The other side the pump side going well. Just not sure about the circle gasket and where that goes?

Blew out the fuel filter and put in a new air filter. Haha. I'm practicing. Good one. Jay. I was hoping I could get away with that. I'm a little chicken for the carb tear down, but I'm on it. Love this saw too much not to have it barfing noodles for me.

Well. Actually didn't fix it. Seems it runs longer now before it dies out. Might have stretched out the fuel line trying to get it to seat in the top of gas tank....I used my finger and stretched it out good.....hindsight some long needle nose pliers to hold the fuel line inside the tank...

Nice Steve. I just took the carb out of my 44 for the first time. Wow. Pretty easy. I was worried I was gonna break the tab on the trigger where the throttle linkage ties in. I changed the fuel line and blew out the fuel filter and it definitely idles better. Might have saved a carb...

Great advice. I got the box of parts, now I'm looking for some time to sit down and be "patient". One of my lessons in life is this patience people talk about... :)

This thread is about rebuilding chainsaws... Hijack away! I ordered a Walbro carb kit, fuel/air filter and fuel line.... Should be messing this thing up in no time.

The people up on the coast out there are so down to earth, grounded, mellow and appreciative of what the sea can both give and take.
