Much more ingenious than my setup, I have a fishing reel mounted to a pointy stick. I stick it in the ground with the reel aimed at the tree, and use a slingshot to shoot a 1/4" drive socket attached to the line over the branch, then pull my regular throw line over. the reel makes retrieval...- woodslinger
