    Rough starting saw

I couldn't agree more with the last two posts. One big problem for me is the lack of GOOD saw techs around here. I was in charge of saws at my last job and now, as owner, I am in charge again. Over the past 11 years I can count on one hand the number of times I brought a saw in and got it back...

    Rough starting saw

I have never dropped a saw off and had it fixed for $30. I figured the cheapest it would be is $125 and we would be without it for 2 to 3 weeks. We basically run our climbers, that Jonsered and a MS 660 so we really need that saw. I still have the saw so it might get fixed some time down the...

    Rough starting saw

Oh I'm sure that you saw guys could probably figure this thing out in no time flat. I'm not great with working on saws and it's not worth it to me to pay a professional to fix it. I will poke around some later. I just need a good saw right now. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

    Rough starting saw

The saw started acting up again today and I got sick and tired of it. I am now the proud owner of a Stihl MS261. I will keep the Jonsered and maybe work in it in my free time.... In other words its done for ever. Too bad. I loved the performance but it always had little issues with it that were...

    Rough starting saw

I can't believe that this is the first time in 12 years that this happened to one of my saws. With as dusty and dirty as our work sites are, I would think this should be common. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

    Rough starting saw

I pulled the fuel filter off today and it started like a champ. I am going to put a new one on as soon as I get one. Anyone know if a Stihl fuel filter will work? I'm guessing they are standard across the different brands. It's a filter for a MS 290. Thanks for all the help! Sent from my...

    Rough starting saw

I was monkeying around with the saw a little today and didn't get anything solved. I did notice that after using the saw and setting it down for several minutes, the primer bulb was always empty. I don't remember this being the case before. Does that mean anything? Sent from my SCH-I535 using...

    Rough starting saw

Thanks for the replies everyone. Some of what was said must have been in Latin because I didn't understand a word of it. :D I will try a few suggestions and see what happens. Otherwise I might have a new parts saw. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

    Rough starting saw

I guess I could try that but our saw gas has been ethanol free for several years now.... At least the past 2. Would a bad carb explain hard starting but good performance after its started? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

    Rough starting saw

My Jonsered 2152 is giving me fits right now when I am trying to get it started. It doesn't matter if it's warmed up or not. I can't start the thing unless I drop start it at full throttle. Even then it is difficult to get going at times. Choking it or not doesn't seem to make any difference...
